International Yoga Day celebration
The International Day of Yoga has been celebrated across the world annually on June 21 since 2015, following its inception in the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. Yoga is a physical, mental and spiritual practice which originated in ancient India. The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his UN address in 2014, had suggested the date of June 21, as it is the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere and shares a special significance in many parts of the world. Christ College NCC cadets actively participate in International Yoga Day activities. The information (like venue and other details) and protocol regarding the Yoga Day Celebration are passed on to the College Principal by the Rajkot District Authorities, a day in advance, every year, and the NCC unit follow them strictly.
Kargil Day Celebration
The NCC cadets of Christ College have been in the forefront of social awareness and welfare programmes. Every year on Kargil Day (26th July), Christ college NCC unit organizes a bike rally. Christ College is the only college from the whole of Gujarat that conducts a Bike rally on Kargil Day. The main aim is to collect funds for the family of Kargil War Martyrs. Starting from Christ College, the cadets on bikes rally through the University Road, Indira Circle, Kotecha Chowk, Racecourse Road and Yagnik Road, to be received finally by the Commanding Officer of 2 GUJ BN NCC at his office.
Independence Day Celebration
Independence Day Celebration is one of the important events conducted by the NCC unit of Christ College. The celebration is marked by 'Flag Hoisting' ceremony, NCC parade, address by the Chief Guest and cultural activities.
Flag Day
Raising fund for the welfare of Martyr's family is one of the welfare programmes organized annually by the NCC. The staff and students donate cheerfully to this noble cause. The collected fund is donated to Sainik Welfare Society Board, Rajkot.
Blood Donation Camp
Blood donation is considered as the gift of life as there is no substitute present for human blood. Every 2 seconds, someone, somewhere needs blood in our country. Christ College NCC unit organizes a blood donation camp annually in collaboration with Rajkot Civil Hospital. "Donate Blood and Save Lives" is the slogan for this campaign. NCC cadets, students and staff members voluntarily donate blood. On an average about 100-150 bottles of blood are collected in a campaign.
Republic Day Celebration
Republic day on Christ Campus is celebrated as per the protocol of armed forces with national fervor and gaiety. Besides the NCC cadets, the function is attended by the Director, the Principals of the three Christ Institutions, teachers and students. The function is marked by the presence of an honourable Chief Guest. Flag Hoisting, Parade Nirikshan and March Past, various adventurous activities such as Human Train formation, Human Pyramid formation, Monkey Crawling, Obstacles and Fire Performances etc. by the NCC cadets are the highlights of the celebration. Recognizing the merits by distributing awards and merit certificates to the distinguished cadets at the hands of the Chief Guest is another noteworthy event.
