The Department of English and Psychology, Christ College, Rajkot, organized a one-day National Conference on “Gendered Perspectives across Literature, Psychology, and Culture” on 1st October 2025, commemorating 250 years of Jane Austen.
The conference provided a platform for academicians, researchers, and students to explore how gendered identities are constructed and interpreted across literature, psychology, and culture, promoting interdisciplinary dialogue and inclusivity.
The event was presided over by His Excellency Bishop Jose Chittooparambil CMI, Bishop of Rajkot Diocese, and inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Utpal Joshi, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Saurashtra University. Dr. Anupma Wadavlikar delivered the Keynote Address, with Dr. Tarlika Zalawadiya and Dr. Ravisinh Zala as Guests of Honour.
Convened by Dr. Tisha Roy and co-convened by Ms. Ryhmol Sahoo, the conference featured insightful paper presentations and discussions that encouraged new perspectives on gender studies. Conducted in hybrid mode, it saw participation from over 180 delegates across India.
The event reflected Christ College Rajkot’s dedication to fostering academic excellence, inclusivity, and progressive scholarship.
