In commemoration of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Special Operations Group, in collaboration with Rajkot City Police, organized a highly impactful Anti-Drug Campaign at Christ Campus on June 26, 2023.
The primary focus of this event was to enlighten the students of Christ College about the adverse effects and influences of harmful drugs on the human body. The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. Parthrajsinh Gohil, ACP of Crime Branch Rajkot, who passionately addressed the students, emphasizing the imperative message of avoiding drug use. He also provided valuable insights into the hierarchy within the Police and Crime branch.
During his speech, Dr. Gohil highlighted the serious risks associated with alcohol and drug consumption, urging the students to be vigilant and proactive in preventing any alcohol and drug-related incidents. He underscored the importance of awareness campaigns to combat drug abuse, delivering his message with a friendly and amicable demeanor.
Another esteemed speaker, Shri Minu Jasdanwala, shed light on various harmful drugs and their detrimental effects on the human body. He emphasized that those who consume these substances often suffer from both psychological and physiological ailments. His talk was highly enlightening, reaching and resonating with 250 attentive students.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Rev. Fr. (Dr.) Jomon Thommana, Director of Christ Campus, Dr. Yvonne Fernandes, Principal of Christ College, and Shri S. D. Jhala, Police Inspector, SOG Crime Rajkot City.
The session proved to be a dynamic and interactive one, as both speakers thoughtfully addressed the queries raised by the participants, engaging the audience deeply.Overall, the Anti-Drug Campaign received significant attention and appreciation from the students and faculty members, fostering a stronger commitment to combat drug abuse and promote a healthier, drug-free community.
